On August 26, 2025, together with KEP Textile Atelier and the TİHCAD Group, we hosted our first (Re)Connect Workshop in Izmir. Around 20 women joined us to transform old jeans and T-shirts into new, handmade bags.
The atmosphere was inspiring: with Turkish music, lots of Çay, and lively conversations, the workshop became more than just a creative space. It turned into a place for exchange and connection. Among the participants were both professionals from the textile industry and women with no direct background in the field – a mix that made the experience even more enriching.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback showed us how much interest there is in creative upcycling formats. With this kick-off, we not only strengthened our network in Izmir but also brought home new ideas and perspectives.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Pervin Aydar Emeklioğlu and Buse Dalgıç as well as Birsen Şehirli Tor, Ergin Aydin, and for their support in making this workshop possible.
